Twisted Games quickly became one of my favorite romance novels.

If you grew up watching the Princess Diaries movies, revisited them as an adult, and secretly wished Mia and Nicholas f*cked, this book is for you. I know the movies are based on Meg Cabot’s popular YA series, but if you’ve moved on from YA and enjoy steamy adult romances, this one will definitely deliver.

Twisted Games blends the romantic storylines from the Princess Diaries movies, featuring a queen-to-be, scandals, blackmail, forbidden love, an outdated marriage law, and a bodyguard you’ll want to see in action. The story centers on Princess Bridget and her new bodyguard, Rhys Larsen. As Bridget finishes college and is suddenly thrown into royal life, she and Rhys both struggle with the tension between duty and desire, making for a story full of drama and high stakes.

Bridget and Rhys are main characters in extraordinary circumstances. You can’t help but root for them to have normal moments and experiences. You want them to have their freedom to just be themselves, to just be a girl and a guy without everything else being so serious. With love and country being the lines toed and secret trysts throughout the castle to deal with that hardship, you have yourself an unputdownable read.

The emotions in this book are even stronger than in Twisted Love. There’s more frustration, anxiety, and fear, but these feelings lead to deeper love, care, and strength. There are also plenty of bold, “f*ck it” moments. Bridget and Rhys go after what they want and refuse to give up, showing real bravery and courage, even when others see it as betrayal or weakness.

There’s so much more I could share about this book, but I don’t want to spoil anything. I know I’ll be rereading it in the future, and I can’t wait to start Twisted Hate next. I’m giving Twisted Games a 10 out of 10, and because of how often and how explicit the spicy scenes are, I’m rating it 2.5 out of 5 on my spice scale*.

Before you start, just a heads up: Twisted Games deals with some sensitive topics like blackmail, emotional manipulation, and references to trauma. If these might be difficult for you, please take care. I hope you enjoy Twisted Games as much as I did, and I’d love to hear what you think!

As always, thanks for reading!💛

Stars:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spice: 🌶️🌶️.5 *This book may be spicier for some readers who do not enjoy dark romance.

P.S. The Twisted Series is made up of interconnected standalones, so you can read them in any order. If you want to go by publication order, Twisted Games is the second book in the series.
