ARC Review: Up in Smoke by Lainey Lawson

I cannot express how much Lainey Lawson has a chokehold on me. Up In Smoke makes it three for three, and they just keep getting better. With each book added to the Bunkhouse series, Lainey adds another twist, another emotional element, and deeper layers to this already entertaining world on the ranch.
I have been waiting for Tripp's story since book one, and it did not disappoint. The jokester of the group always has a reason behind his antics, and Lainey delivered in so many ways. Enter Mesa. The humble yet accomplished elementary educational app developer who comes to town to unwind and recharge after years of dedication and hard work in her career. After a brief swap of their homes, she befriends Savannah, returning to take residence in her grandmother's cottage.
After stepping in temporarily for Blythe's maid of honor at a pop-up dress fitting at the bunkhouse, she has her first meeting with Tripp, where they both silently swoon over each other. However, when both are not into commitment and opt for a friendship intermingled with spicy lessons, it's no surprise that their intimacy grows beyond the bedroom.
Letting each other in on the deepest parts of themselves and pulling back layers they haven't revealed to others is what forms such a strong bond between these two amazing characters. Being surrounded by couples in love also has them dipping their toes into the what-ifs.
I am rating Up In Smoke 10 out of 10 stars with a 3.5 out of 5 for spice. If you are into small-town cowboy romance, with a reformed playboy MMC and a hopeless romantic FMC, found family, strangers to friends to lovers, yearning (oh, the yearning!), and "teach me" vibes, this book is for you!
I am so grateful to have received an ARC copy of Up in Smoke, making it my third ARC read with Lainey, in exchange for an honest review. I need to apologize; this review is coming way too late due to my own wedding and honeymoon. Unfortunately, with all the events, there wasn't enough time to sit down and review until now. So, Lainey, I am sorry that this review came so late, but thank you again for creating another masterpiece and allowing me to be an ARC reader one more time.
